The Meeting Room of the Town Hall of Mazarrón last Friday hosted a recognition of diverse young athletes of the township.
On this occasion, the honorees were the atetas Natalia Aznar, Paul Mendez and Ismael Belhaki and table tennis player Miguel Ortiz.
The event was chaired by the Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, and was attended by councilors Maria Celeste Soria, Magdalena Mendez and Andrew James, as well as the coaches, families and friends of the honorees.
The mayor of Sports, Andrew James, outlined the achievements of each of the athletes before they did the Mayor presented with a gift on behalf of the City.
In this regard, note that Natalia Aznar has been champion of Spain on 50 meter dash, long jump and 500 meter dash in Spain Athletics Championships for the Blind and Visually Impaired in March 2013.
In this championship, Paul Mendez won a gold medal, one silver and one bronze in 60-meter dash, long jump and 1000 meter dash, respectively.
These medals are added to other 6 the athlete won gold in the championships of 2012 and 2011 for the Blind and Visually Impaired in various forms athletic.
Both belong to Club Athletics Belhaki Mazarrón with Ismael, one of the best athletes in the region and that most successful nationally.
Among the accomplishments of being counted Belhaki cadet champion Spain in Spain Cadet Cup Indoor Track Club that was held last February in Zaragoza.
A month later, the athlete got the minimum mark to participate in the Championship of Spain Cadet Indoor Athletics in 60 and 300 meter dash, getting 5th place in 60 ml and 300 ml placing second in (and was later disqualified later as the referee for stepping the line in the third or fourth support after departure).
