This Saturday May 11 is celebrated around the world on "World Migratory Bird Day" or "Day of Migratory Birds" under the theme "Networks for migratory birds", which aims to draw attention of the authorities and citizens on the need to invest in the conservation of migratory birds, as they constitute a shared heritage between different nations.
To celebrate this day, the Department of Environment of the City of Mazarrón has organized, in collaboration with the Association of Southeast Naturalists (Anse), a series of activities under the project "Conservation of White-headed Duck in the region of Murcia. Spain ".
Scheduled activities will take place in the consistory itself and in the lagoons of the boulevard of "The Mulberry" wetland of international importance listed as RAMSAR.
The program of activities will begin at 9 am with a talk on the project "Life" in the Town Hall auditorium.
Behind her, is planning a tourist cycle route from Mazarron to said wetland.
Once in the lakes of the mulberry trees, will be a session of migratory bird ringing and children's activities and an activity of the wetland bird watching.
The activity is included in the LIFE09/ES/000516 Project "Conservation of White-headed Duck in the Region of Murcia. Spain", D1 action.
Disclosure schools and social organizations and financed with 75% by European funds.
The Department of Environment of the City of Mazarrón is the partner receiving the action that is being developed by the Association of Southeastern Naturalist (Anse).
Furthermore, that project involved as beneficiary DG Environment and the City as beneficiary partner of Molina de Segura.
