Last week was held at the "House of Culture" of Mazarrón the Permanent International Seminar Border Studies Iberian and Mediterranean Worlds, which received an excellent reception attended by over fifty people both inside and outside the municipality.
The closing ceremony was conducted by the Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, and the Rector of the University of Murcia (UMU), José Antonio Cobacho.
They agreed on the importance of that history also occupy his place outside educational agencies, approaching citizenship and Mazarrón making a benchmark in the field of science.
Part of the success of the seminar is based in the important speakers who have gathered at the meeting.
Among them have been told Bethany Aram, University Pablo de Olavide, José Antonio Martínez Torres, UNED, Marie Kervin of the Université Libre de Bruxelles, Michelangelo Melon University of Extremadura and Maria Isabel Monroy College of San Luis de Mexico .
He has also been instrumental in the work of José Javier Ruiz Ibáńez, director of that seminar, and "alma mater" of the international conference on Philip II which was held to mark the 440 anniversary of the granting of the privilege of Villa.
Another figure that has helped in achieving this success has been the other educational seminar director, Gaetano Sabatini, come from the Universita degli Studi Roma and Red Columnaria member.
Sabatini, who inaugurated the course by the Councillor for Education and Culture of the consistory, Maria Celeste Soria; advocated fostering this type of event in which history reaches a universal perspective starting from a local perspective.
In this sense, the mayor also expressed Soria who stressed that this workshop has consolidated the scientific path undertaken a year ago with the congress on Philip II and Almazarrón.
The Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, he was "proud to welcome participation and obtained the seminar" and thanked the UMU, the Universita degli Studi Roma and Red Columnaria "his magnificent work for development of science history and culture in our town ".
The mayor has said that "we will continue in this line of work, consolidating Mazarrón as a scientific capital within the scope of this matter."
