This morning the hotel 'Bahia' in Puerto de Mazarrón has hosted the awards ceremony of the XIV National Championship Lifesaving Military, as usual every year, has been held in the waters of the Bay of Mazarron and in the swimming pool sport complex "Jesus Canovas Valenzuela", which is assigned by the council for the development of sports tournament.
The delivery of this morning was chaired by Major General of the EMU, Manuel Barrós, Colonel secretary of the Central Board of Physical Education and Sports of the Civil Guard, Jesus Martin, and the Second Deputy Mayor of Mazarrón , Isidro Coy, who were accompanied by the Councillor for Civil Protection and Coastal Services, Miguel M ª García, the mayor of Sports, Andrew James, and other military authorities.
This year has involved a total of 5 teams representing the Guardia Civil, Military Emergency Unit (UME), the Navy, the Air Force and the Royal Lifesaving Spanish (RFESS).
In regards to the team standings, both males and females EMU has been imposed on other teams.
Participants had to face the 'open water events' on the beach in La Reya and 'testing pool' in that sports where obstacles have used mannequins.
This meeting is organized by the Head of Education of the General Directorate of the Civil Guard who wanted to thank the City Council supported this championship delivering the Second Deputy Mayor commemorative figure, which has been received by Isidro Coy on behalf of all the consistory.
They have also received this recognition for their support the 'Bay Hotel', and its director, Soledad Diaz, the charge to receive this recognition, and the Lifesaving Federation of the Region of Murcia, which has collected the trophy on behalf of the RFESS.
The Second Deputy Mayor, Isidro Coy, congratulated the winners and said during the closing ceremony "the importance of carrying out initiatives like this that those who are athletes, we are encouraged to continue to participate and compete, especially if be when the final goal of the activity is the safety of people using the lifesaving techniques.
