The Municipal Council of the City of Mazarrón has approved this morning by a vote in favor of all political parties, except for Izquierda Unida - The Greens abstained, a motion in defense of maintaining the Tajo-Segura.
The proposal, but has come from the Municipal Socialist Group, has been changed to another by the Municipal People to which is added an aspect that has been agreed during a break in full by the parties that voted for (PP, PSEO, UIDM and Parema).
Councillor for Agriculture and Rural Development, Fisheries and Food, Magdalena Mendez was the first to expose the need "to defend among all this transfer that generates wealth in our region, with the new project Tagus Water Plan being developed by the Central Government ".
One aspect that has highlighted the mayor has been to keep the 240 cubic are booking the headwaters of the Tagus, not raising this reserve as that project aims to collect and that "could lead to shipping water to the Basin Segura from the Tagus ".

Finally, the Full Council of Mazarrón has also urged the Governing Council of the Region of Murcia, in so far as the Memorandum acquire the force of law, support the allegations that the draft Basin Hydrological Plan of the Tagus can present SCRATS to ensure the life of the Tajo-Segura, maintaining the current reserves of 240 cubic hectometers.
