The most universal Murcia sculptor of all time, the sculptor Francisco Salzillo, come this Saturday to Mazarron through an exhibition organized by the Department of Culture of the City of Mazarrón and the Guild of Handicraft Various Regional entitled "" third anniversary of Salzillo , Murcia universal ". The exhibition will be inaugurated on Saturday October 5 in the Town Hall of Mazarrón (Plaza del Ayuntamiento, 1) from 20:30 hours by Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, the Councillor for Culture, Maria Celeste Soria , and the greatest master of the Guild of Handicraft Various Regional, José María Gómez.

From the Regional Craft Guild of Murcia have explained that it has seen the need to pay tribute to the universal craftsman who has given birth this orchard land, as is the third centenary of the birth of the great sculptor Francisco Salzillo Alcaraz, of Italian father and mother Murcia born in the month of May 1707 in Murcia, Spanish city that never wanted to leave, despite job offers that came from Italy and other Spanish cities that rejected.

Salzillo always been very interested in the culture and the work of his father's native country Salzillo Gayo Nicholas, born in Santa Maria Capua Venera (Naples), which is reflected in his works, taking their pictures a Neapolitan influence, melting with the landscape and Customs of Murcia, and as a result was born the 'Baroque school Murcia'.

Salzillo, not content to create life-size sculpture but created another school, the 'Belenista in Murcia', which after nearly three centuries, there is still more than eighteen workshops in the city these figures miniaturists working with Neapolitan influences all having reference to the famous sculptor who created the nativity scene to his friend Don Jesualdo Riquelme 'Marqués de Riquelme' and now belongs to the estate of Murcia and in all countries of the earth, as it is exhibited in the museum the sculptor to enjoy worldwide.

The exhibition has visited Alicante, Madrid, Granada and Mellila and continues to visit various Spanish communities and the Region of Murcia, Mazarron being his next stop where you can contemplate up to November 4 from Monday to Saturday from 10 to 14 hours and Thursday and Friday from 17 to 20 hours, being closed to the public on the last Saturday of the month (October 26th) and Friday November 1.
