This past Sunday marked the III Half Marathon 'Bay of Mazarrón' Fun Run III and 10 kilometers under the same name, with great success, organized the Mazarrón Bay Sports Club with the collaboration of the Department of Sports City of Mazarrón.
In total, 413 athletes gathered in both tests, for the first time, were held together for a pleasant morning when the good weather accompanied the athletes for their journey along the coast Mazarron.
The winner of the III Half Marathon was the athlete Roberto Castellon club 'Rumbo Fijo' who won with a time of 1 hour, 15 minutes and 17 seconds.
He was accompanied on the podium Pedro A.
Lopez, representing the club 'Nogalte' that crossed the line second, and Pedro Enrique Casalliglla, who participated independently coming third.
In females, the winner of the Half Marathon was Mercedes club Merino 'Mandarache' with a time of 1 hour, 30 minutes and 37 seconds.
Mara Luisa Terres, the 'Tragamillas' was second, while Silvia Ferreiro, independent participant also completed the podium in third.
In regard to the 10-mile, the winner was Sergio Martinez Athlete 'Alcaraz Group', who performed the test in a time of 35 minutes and 6 seconds.
Alberto Saolin, the 'Abarán', crossed the line in second place and Bartolomé Sánchez, the 'Totana', was third in the Fun Run III 'Bay of Mazarrón.
In regards to the female category, the winner was Mayte Mazarron Vera, the 'Mobel Sport Lorca', who made a time of 43 minutes and 1 second.
She was joined on the podium Toni Penalver, representing the second-placed 'KM 21 Montepinar', and Ruth Maria Canovas, third representing the 'Totana'.
The awards ceremony for the winners was made by the Councillor for Sports, Andrew James, the mayor of Public Safety and Celebration, Isidro Coy, and President of the Bay of Mazarron CD, Peter Lorite.
In addition to the awards to the overall winners of both tests and the other category, also gave awards to the best local athletes ranked each test.
In the half marathon, these were Juan Ramon Gonzalez and Victoria Machota, while in the 10-kilometer first across the finish Mazarron were Francisco Javier Lopez and Vera Mayte absolute winner.
