Older people theater group 'Sunset' Social Center of Puerto de Mazarrón 2,000 calendars have been developed solidarity with the assistance, among others, the photographer Juan Francisco Belmar, in order to raise funds and allocate them to Caritas Parish of Mazarrón and Puerto de Mazarrón.
The Director General of the Instituto Murciano Senior Social Action (IMAS), Enrique Perez, attended this week to the calendar display, framed in the commemoration of the twenty-first anniversary of the Social, and appreciated this initiative will allow help most in need of the municipality.
Perez said: "This initiative shows the solidarity of older people, their concern for those who are faring worse and his eagerness to continue working with the company to provide responses to difficult situations."
The solidarity calendar, available from three euros, is composed of 28 frames in the representation of 'The Orchestras' theater cycle developed by the Universidad Popular de Mazarrón last May.
This initiative will raise about € 6,000 approximately those Caritas Parish of Mazarrón and Puerto de Mazarrón may purchase food for distribution to families or individuals who do not have resources.
The CEO concluded that the fight against poverty is "a priority for the regional government," so that "such initiatives add significant value to all that has already been doing for years."
