This past weekend the club 'Lions International - Mazarrón Bay' conducted two "rides solidarity" in Mazarron and Puerto de Mazarron in order to raise funds which will go to fund the travel of several children with diabetes to a Special camp for diabetics.
The activity involved the collaboration of the Department of Sports City of Mazarrón and Hiking Club, Friends of Nature.
Indeed, on the day on Saturday, which began in the Plaza del Convento, the "Mazarrón Lions" were visited by the Councillor for Sports of the consistory Mazarron, Andrew James, and the president of the association hiker, Rafael Peral, who served as a guide on the walk that morning.
The club also received the support of 'Red Cross Mazarrón' led by its president, Carmen Navarro.
The spokesman of 'Lions International - Mazarrón Bay', Virginia Barker, highly appreciated "the support of the City, the 'Friends of Nature' and 'Red Cross' who have put all their interest in this activity."
Also, Andre James congratulated "the Lions for carrying out initiatives like this, then the chances of diabetes can be reduced if you make weekly treks how are you proposing this club."
