This morning has been opened in the Senior Community Center of Puerto de Mazarrón, a group show that, during the XXI Anniversary this center honors the Pottery and Ceramics.
The opening was performed by the CEO of the Murcia Seniors Social Action Institute (IMAS), Enrique Perez Abellan, the Deputy Mayor of Planning of the City of Mazarrón, Francisco Garcia, and the director of that center, Alfonso Cifuentes.
Also present were the Councillor for Social Policy, María Martínez, and aldermen David Fernandez and Jose Gomez.
The sample is composed of dozens of pieces of pottery and typical towns in Mazarron, Totana, Alhama de Murcia, Lorca and Mula, some made by the partners themselves pottery center.
Enrique Perez Abellan stressed that "these shows are important because they recover our traditions, with a sample of our history and that this type of art dates back to Phoenician times" and encouraged the largest in the center to "continue with this type activities because every time I attend here, surprised me again and again. "
Meanwhile, Alfonso Cifuentes explained that this exhibition "is celebrated on the occasion of our 21st birthday we celebrate for weeks and within that there are still some activities to celebrate."
In this sense, the center director recalled that "on Monday 29, from 17 pm, members display their artistic skills on stage with activity 'on Stage Partners." On Thursday morning 28 will make a visit CEMACAM of Torreguil and finally on Friday 29 also at 17 hours enjoy a theater evening by our theater group 'Sunset' with the work 'O Maria' and the group 'The Talayón' that will stage the play 'The doctor's Toni.' "
One of the initiatives that have been carried out within this anniversary has been the development of solidarity calendar 2000 funded through a financial donation made personally by the Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, for seniors theater group 'Sunset' Social Center of Puerto de Mazarrón.
The calendar has had the collaboration of photographer Juan Francisco Belmar and with funds raised will go to him 'Parish Caritas' both Mazarrón and Puerto de Mazarrón.
The Deputy Mayor of Planning, Francisco García, congratulated "the director of the Center, its Board of Participation and all seniors, not just this magnificent display, but also for the many activities that take place."
Some activities that Garcia wished "to enjoy with great intensity and that the coming year will celebrate many more and can be with you to celebrate another anniversary."
