29 artists who came from different parts of the national territory participated this past Sunday at the XI National Contest of Outdoor Painting "Landscapes of Mazarrón - Memorial Domingo Valdivieso".
The painters did not shrink in the presence of rain and showed, as commented Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, "a great technical quality when translating his works, though many of the really beautiful and worthy prize boxes ".
The first prize, worth 2,500 euros thanks to the sponsorship of the City of Mazarrón, went to Cristobal Leon Garcia represented, with excellent technical quality, an image of several houses Gachero area.
The second prize of 1,500 Euros and sponsored by "Aquabel" was placed in the hands of Abraham Mendoza Pinto through a landscape of mines.
Finally, the third prize of $ 1,000 and donated by "AGYREC" Manuel Jiménez Sánchez was a spectacular watercolor rainy day at the beach.
Furthermore, it presented a "Special Prize Watercolor", worth 600 euros and sponsored by "AGRIMUR", which went to Miguel San Pedro Diaz.
In the Children's category was presented Campillo Alfonso Hernandez, who received a suitcase painter donated by the municipality of Mazarrón.
EL panel of judges consisted of Ginés Campillo, Mayor of Mazarrón, Maria Celeste Soria, Councillor for Culture, Javier Lorente, painter and festival director Mari Carmen Sánchez-Rojas, director of the Museum "Pedro Cano Foundation" and painters Pedro Diego Casanova Pérez, Mariano Guillen, Luis Marino and Thomas Raja.
Some of the artists have their pictures placed temporarily in the Mazarrón Town Council, which currently exposes to the public on the ground floor and basement of the town hall.
Citizens can even buy some of the works by contacting the authors to reach an agreement for purchase.
The exhibit can be viewed Monday to Saturday 10 to 14 pm and on Thursday and Friday from 17 to 20 hours.
The works will be on display until next December 21.
