The Course of History UPM Sunday visit ancient Siyâsa (14/01/2014)

The Course of History Mazarrón People's University (UPM) proposed for this Sunday January 19, a visit to the town of Cieza, Siyâsa old.

The output will be at 8 am from the door of the old building of the People's University in Mazarrón Constitution Avenue and can go all those wishing to participate in the activity for 7 euros stakeholders will have a guided visit different places of historical and tourist interest of the municipality.

A 9.30 is due to arrive in Cieza and the start of the visit will begin with the Museum 'Teodoro Mill', which is located in a flour mill fifteenth century and fully restored by the city of Cieza between 1998 and 1999 , in order to convert it into a museum.

It houses an interesting collection of equipment and utensils used in the mills of the time to undertake cleaning processes, grinding, sifting and Sasado wheat for flour.

The name 'Teodoro Mill' was derived from the last owner and miller.

After this, at 10.30 am will visit the Museum of Siyâsa located in the heart of the old town of Cieza.

The museum consists of four levels nurtured a splendid sample of archaeological and ethnographic heritage found in the ciezano territory that invite visitors to explore the history of the town from the Paleolithic to the early twentieth century.

After visiting the museum, the group will head to the vicinity of the Cave of La Sima Merganser, whose visit will close the day.

Located in the Canyon of Almadenes, between the terms of Cieza and Calasparra, this enclave is located in the most representative expressions of Paleolithic rock art, Levantine and Schematic of the Region of Murcia are documented, all declared World Heritage by UNESCO since 1998.

The cave-sima of Merganser is on the left bank of said barrel, doomed to Segura River in a magnificent landscape visually and virtually inaccessible from outside impact.
