The Downtown Association Senior Day Mazarron has donated 2,000 euros on new material for the Unit for Alzheimer patients that the Department of Social Policy launched in that center.
The donation was made by the president of the association, Vicenta Perez, and other members of its board, who delivered the material to the Councillor for Social Policy, Maria Martinez, director of the Center and Day, Isabel Martinez.
"This is a specific material for work in such conditions, covering different areas of treatment that are offered in our Unit of Alzheimer" stated María Martínez who added that "this material will help us in the work the area of ​​cognitive stimulation, psychology, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and social worker. "
The president of the association, Vicenta Perez, he was "very pleased to be collaborating in this way with the new service center offering the largest in the county and we hope to increase the amount next year to continue working."
Said unit, which cares for people with Alzheimer's and other dementias mental, has been well received in the town and currently has 10 members.
The Mayor of Mazarrón, Ginés Campillo, thanked the donation as "will help us improve the service we provide from Alzheimer Unit which, remember, has been launched only with funds from the municipal coffers."
