This past Saturday, petanque facilities in Puerto de Mazarrón Rihuete welcomed the Regional Final Open Petanque Youngsters and school sport program promoting the general direction of Physical Activity and Sport CARM collaboration with the municipalities of the Region.
At the meeting involved a total of 80 children who came from different schools of the Region of Murcia.
Great performance of Mazarron teams, especially the CEIP 'Francisco Caparros' that regional champion in Category Alevín.
The representatives of IES 'Philip II' also got to the podium finishing third in the Open category.
Definitely two great sporting achievements by the Department of Sports congratulates both schools.
After the competition we proceeded to the awards ceremony which was attended by the Councillor for Sports Hall of Mazarrón, Andrew James, the president of the Petanque Federation of Murcia, Antonio Soriano, and the head of the Sports Services CARM Eduardo Zegarra.
It was a great morning of school sport in the form of boules from which all participants enjoyed.
In category Alevín accompanied on the podium at school 'Francisco Caparros CEIP' Santa Eulalia 'Totana, which was regional runner-up, and' Narwhal 'Cartagena that came third.
In the Open category, the regional champion was the IES 'Reina Sofia' Totana, the runner-up school 'Juan de la Cierva' also Totana, podium completing the 'Philip II'.
Note that the match for third and fourth place teams played two Mazarron, for the 'Philip II' had to be imposed on the IES 'Domingo Valdivieso' to get on the podium.
The Department of Sports give each participant a gift bag and thank Petanque Club of Puerto de Mazarrón help in this sporting event.
