Last Saturday the band of the Musical Association 'Maestro Eugenio Calderón' offered at the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, a concert on Easter marches included in the schedule of events planned by the Council of Guilds Easter and Our Brotherhood Señora Virgen de la Soledad de Mazarrón this year.
During the same concert was released on the progress entitled 'He is risen!'
written by the Valencian settled in Cartagena, Añó Jesus Martinez, who led the band at this important time.
The concert, dominated by the image of the Virgen de la Soledad, included eight Easter marches.
In the first part the band played four gears so-called passion, or funeral marches;
these are sad marches intended to evoke in the listener the drama of the passion shown by the images accompanying the processions of Thursday and Friday.
The second part was devoted to the marches that are interpreted in the procession of Easter;
they, unlike the previous ones, are simple gears, cutting and cheerful evoking the joy of the resurrection.
The concert ended with the triumphant march "He is risen!"
Jesus Añó composed in 2012 for the Association of Our Lord Jesus Risen Cartagena.
This composer, who has to his credit numerous Easter marches as 'A crown of thorns', 'Domine Quo vadis?', 'Our Father Jesus Nazarene' or 'always under your canopy', had the opportunity to explain to the public the inspiration and meaning of the work premiered and accepted the invitation to lead the band on this bill.
All works were warmly applauded, especially the newly released piece.
The audience, including many brothers were representing all Mazarrón guilds also had the opportunity to participate in the concert band accompanying the letter of the popular hymn "fisher of men".
