200 athletes gathered yesterday in Bolnuevo to participate in the First Triathlon 'Mazarrón Bay', organized by the Sports Club 'Mazarrón Bay' in collaboration with the Department of Sports City of Mazarrón.
Despite the unsettled weather, the test could proceed smoothly and thank you, once again, volunteers, local police officers, members of Civil Defence and Red Cross members of Mazarrón.
The male overall winner of the race was Arturo Galián Nicholas, who completed the three parts of the course in 57 minutes and 16 seconds.
In second place was Julio Sánchez López with a time of 59 minutes and 21 seconds while third athlete Fernando Martínez Ortiz who crossed the finish line five seconds after Sanchez arrived.
In females, the absolute champion was Mabel Garcia Gallardo reached finish line with a time of 1 hour, 8 minutes and 53 seconds.
The second ranked Maria degli Angeli was Hernandez Pizarro, who completed the test with a time of 1 hour, 11 minutes and 47 seconds and followed in third position, Marina Alcázar Merono with a time of 1 hour, 13 minutes and 47 seconds .
After the competition, Councilman Sports City of Mazarrón, Andrew James, the mayor of Public Safety, Isidro Coy, President of the Federation of Triathlon in the Region of Murcia, Diego Calvo, and the president of CD 'Bay Mazarrón 'Pedro Lorite, they handed over the trophies to the absolute champions of proof, and the winners in each category are available on the municipal website www.mazarron.es.
