The mayor, Francisco García, has asked the Ministry of Education for the immediate opening of school canteens in the municipality of Mazarrón during the summer months.
A petition that aims to help families who are currently facing a difficult economic situation.
"Unfortunately, in many houses Mazarrón have serious difficulties in making ends meet."
Will reflect the Mayor in his letter sent Wednesday to the regional directors of Education and Social Policy, Pedro Antonio Sanchez and Catalina Lorenzo, respectively.
The brief also includes the town has been greatly punished by unemployment and, in many cases, the cafeteria is the only guarantee that children have access to safe and consistent with the criteria necessary daily food meal.
Francisco García asked to estimate their request because it understands "we're talking about something very serious that meets a basic need that must be addressed as it deserves by public agencies."
