The Polytechnic University of Cartagena has chosen the Club de Regatas de Mazarrón as host to teach the first course Security Coordination Nautical events which opened Monday by the municipal mayor, Francisco Garcia, and the Vice President for Student and University Extension, Francisco Martin.
Identify the essential characteristics of a marine event and know the functions and responsibilities of the Security Coordinator are some of the objectives set in this course which also aims to deepen the knowledge of liability insurance.
This is the first of three courses that belong to an agreement signed by the UPCT and Sea International University with the City of Mazarrón.
The program analyzes the security in various types of races such as testing recreational sea fishing and other sporting character evidence.
Among the teachers of this course is Federico Lopez-Ceron, Chief of the Maritime District of Mazarrón, Francisco Cavas, Agent Insurance and Maritime Safety inspectors, José Luis Rada Diego and Solano.
The associates are the Mazarrón Town Council, the Maritime Authority of Cartagena, the Club de Regatas de Mazarrón, Hotel Playa Grande and the insurance broker Huertas & Cavas.
