As usual, the outdoor terrace Puerto de Mazarrón Bay has been the venue for the awards ceremony of the XV Army National Aquatic Rescue Championships.
Senior military commanders have chaired an event which is terminated a new edition of this competition that has taken place in beach waters of Reya pool and sports center Juan Carlos Valenzuela, whose facilities were provided by the City of Mazarrón.
Team EMU (Emergency Military Unit) has made victory in both the male and female categories.
While individual general classifications have been spearheaded by the Civil Guards Esther Paton Olmeda and Álvaro García Gañán.
For five days, a total of 48 soldiers, from all over Spain have participated in the various tests that make these championships.
The awards ceremony on Friday was chaired by Maj. EMU, Manuel Barros, Col. Secretary of the Board of Physical Education and Sports, Jesus Martin and Mayor of Mazarrón, Francisco Garcia, who were accompanied by The Deputy Mayor, Councillor Ginés Campillo and Civil Protection, Miguel García Incarnation, and other members of the government team and other military authorities.
During the event, the Mayor of Mazarrón has delivered a commemorative bronze coin 440 anniversary of the naming of the town of Villa to two senior military officers who presided over the event.
In turn, the Civil Guard, organizing these championships, has given the council a tricorn gala.
The director of the hotel Bahia Soledad Diaz, has also received recognition from the organizers of the event.
Colonel Jesús Martín highlighted the performance of the participants and expressed his hope that in the near future is to create a national military water rescue team that competes in the World Cup in Sweden.
For his part, Mayor of Mazarrón, Francisco García, expressed his satisfaction with the fact that Mazarrón again host this competition.
The Mayor also congratulated the winners and encouraged them in their daily work of inestimable service and dedication to the public.
