In some lavapiés beaches of the municipality have been recorded last summer excessive accumulations of water unable to drain the sand in time.

The situation was cause for complaint of swimmers.

Therefore the Department of Coastal Services has initiated studies to avoid such situations.

The mayor Miguel Encarnacion Garcia and his team have decided to install a test mode goblets high density polypropylene used in the livestock sector to facilitate drainage.

This system has been placed on the beach Rihuete late September.

After several inspections, municipal confirm that there is no accumulation of water.

The project is still under study, at no cost to city coffers.
