In mid-December last year, coinciding with the last part of the festivities, Mazarrón hosted the First Ever Film Survival.
During the weekend, the town became a film set for ten teams of Mazarrón, Cartagena, Murcia and Almeria.
The participants had less than 48 hours to shoot a short after learning, by lot, gender, location and an element of surprise turned out to be, for this first edition, a meat pie.
Finally, the competition was won by the "Short Change and" group for their short "Consequences".
The crew, from Murcia, won the 1000 euros that was gifted with first prize.
The second prize, worth 500 euros, went to the team of "The Goonies" and his "Moments".
The special award for the use of the site was for "A Short Suit Me" and his film "Default".
There were also special mentions and delivery of diplomas for best screenplay, editing, use of the soundtrack, stills and best male and female performances.
The First Film Competition Survival was organized by the Department of Culture of the City of Mazarrón.
