The Mayor of Mazarrón, Francisco Garcia and the Councillor for Culture, Ginés Campillo, will open on Thursday the International Seminar "Mazarrón in Mediterranean areas alum" that will house the Cultural Centre on 5 and 6 February.
The content of this seminar was to advance Monday by the mayor of Culture and the municipal archaeologist, Maria Martinez Mayor.
A total of twenty experts arrived from Spanish, French and Italian universities will share their vision on a date that will internationally.
Teachers Siena, Rome, Sardinia and Tours share their investigations in as linked to Mazarrón alum as it was at the dawn of the modern age populations.
For Councilman Cultural, Ginés Campillo, this is an outstanding appointment to keep learning from Mazarrón and part of the municipal history of great economic importance.
During the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, alum mines of Mazarrón, alongside those of Tolfa in Italy, were the main point of production of the sulfate used at the time as a mordant for dyeing fabrics.
It includes, for the second day, visits to the quarry extraction Portichuelo, the famous Charco of the Needle and Factory Alum.
The inscription, as confirmed by Maria Martinez Mayor, is free and may be entered on the first day of the seminar on Thursday 5 February before beginning at 9 am.
