The construction of the new bridge over the Rambla del Canal de Lorca in Mazarron hamlet of Canadas del Romero are coming to an end.
In recent days we have proceeded to the placement of three beams of 26,000 kilos and reaching the final phase of work awaiting the tarmac.
According to the Councillor for Rural Development, the work will be completed later this month or early March.
The project was awarded last September 30 the most economically advantageous tender for a total amount of 238,169 euros.
Just over two years ago, the flood of September 28, 2012 caused the rupture of the anterior infrastructure.
Since then the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development began processing solution at the request of the neighbors.
Several possibilities, including the realization of a speed bump, but finally opted for the implementation of a new bridge were shuffled.
This solution is the most expensive but also the most reliable and durable over time, offering more guarantees in the event of future floods, as reported by municipal and regional technicians.
Due to the budget the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development sought help from the various autonomous bodies.
The project was funded by the City and the work is carried out by European funds.
