Mazarrón seven beaches this summer will fly the blue flag awarded by the European Foundation for Environmental Education.

In 2015 repeated Rihuete award beaches, harbor, bay-La Reya, Nares, Grande-Castellar and Alamillo.
In these six are joined this time the beach of El Mojon.
Mazarrón is adjacent to the second Eagles coastal town of Murcia with more blue flags after Cartagena.
For the Mayor of Mazarrón, Francisco Garcia, "this is very good news for the town because it improves the projection of our coast and also means a recognition last year in office, because not only have remained beaches flag blue, but also has managed to add a ".
Councilman Coastal Services, Miguel Garcia, also valued very positively this new recognition to the beaches of Mazarrón which also have the distinction of Quality Q (Rihuete, Bahia, Castellar, Bolnuevo, La Reya and Nares) and Ecoplayas (Castellar and Rihuete).
For the distinction of the Blue Flag beaches must meet certain requirements as to expose the public with information on sensitive shorelines, natural ecosystems and protected species, display information about the Blue Flag Campaign, promoting local rules for use of the beach easily accessible to the public and available for when needed.
In addition the City must show offered to the public, at least five activities of information and environmental education.
Water quality, environmental management, safety and services occupy very important chapters that studies the Foundation for Environmental Education to finally give the Blue Flag distinction.
