60 people left the unemployment rolls in Mazarrón during the month of May, according to the latest statistical report by the Regional Confederation of Organizations of Cartagena (COEC).
By sectors and in absolute terms the largest decrease in unemployment in May was in services.
In relative terms, the decline was 2.6%, accumulating in the last year a decrease of 9.3%.
It is the latter, the best figure of global municipalities covered by this study, improving by more than three points the regional average is down 6%.
The estimated unemployment rate in the municipality, according to COEC is at 19.8%, down from 20% the first time since last August.
Estimates for the coming months are even more positive considering that the peak of the tourism sector is about to begin.
