The residents of the hamlet of Leiva are celebrating their festivities in honor of the Virgen del Carmen.
This time it was Mateo Miguel Morales who opened the festivities with his proclamation.
Natural Morata degree in Humanities, Morales made mention its roots in Leiva in a speech that delighted the audience in the square of the shrine.
Presided over the ceremony the Mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jimenez, accompanied by the village headman, Juan Soler and councilors of Celebration, Culture, and Employment Services and Trade, Patricio Sanchez, Pedro Martinez, Domingo Hernandez and Maria Angeles Roman, respectively.
Following the tradition it proceeded to the election of the queens of the holidays.
Serrano was elected Salvadora Juvenile Queen, Queen Sandra Contreras Children and Concha Vivancos Queen of the Third Age.
In addition, Pedro Mendez has been appointed Mr. Leiva 2015.
Previously, in the annex to the chapel hall it was inaugurated the photographic exhibition entitled "Natural Leiva", a review in pictures the landscape, ethnography and local history of this hamlet.
Since the day of the patron saint, on Thursday 16, it took place the Holy Mass celebrated by the pastor of the Churches San Andrés and San Antonio de Mazarrón, Julio Romero.
