For the third year Mazarrón Bay will be lit, this time by over a thousand lanterns.
Caritas solidarity benefit that beach house Paseo de Mazarron, from 23 pm on Saturday August 15 initiative.
This year the number increases lanterns throwing 1000-1200.
Throughout the day, two booths set up on the promenade sold at a price of 4 euros each lantern.
The money raised will be donated to Caritas as confirmed at the presentation ceremony the Mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jimenez, accompanied by Council of Social Policy and Celebrations, Laura Sanchez and Patricio Ortiz, respectively.
Concepcion Aparicio, president of Caritas of Puerto de Mazarrón, recalled the importance of this activity as every penny raised will benefit the most disadvantaged.
Caritas helps more than 150 families in the Port, offers the passer and supports people in extreme poverty and to terminally ill patients.
With the objective and responsibility to always ensure safety, this activity is at the mercy of the weather, so it could undergo changes in its organization, as the Mayor said, Alicia Jimenez.
