The Mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jiménez, and the Minister of Presidency, Maria Dolores Pagan signed on Monday a cooperation agreement between the two administrations to achieve the service faster and more effective citizens in an emergency.
Alongside Mazarrón they have signed this agreement five more regional councils.
The Councillor for Civil Protection of the City of Mazarrón, Laura Ortiz, has accompanied the mayor on the signing of this important agreement and the subsequent visit to the central facilities of 112 in Murcia.
The municipalities of Las Torres de Cotillas, Los Alcázares Mazarrón, Molina de Segura, San Javier and San Pedro del Pinatar offer a quick and effective response to citizens in emergency situations thanks to the extension of the collaboration agreement signed today with the Ministry Presidency, which in total is established in 13 municipalities.
After the signing, the minister Maria Dolores Pagan explained that these six municipalities until 2018 the integrated service of emergency calls in the different local authorities and strengthen the coordination services related to public safety.
"These agreements will allow an exchange of information in real time, through the shared use of the systems and the integration of information and communication devices," said Pagan.
The goal is for the ads and news situations are transferred quickly, safely and effectively to the different security and emergency services.
In addition to producing an effective coordination and optimization of resources mobilization, the minister stressed that "encourages the resolution of incidents immediately, which will help to improve care, safety and, ultimately, quality of life citizen. "
Thus, operators of the Emergency Coordination Center 112-Murcia introduce all the facts of the case on a shared local bodies system.
Similarly, those who are considered emergencies, municipalities receive through any telephone call, radio or direct knowledge of operational, will be entered into the system by the operators of the remote center of the body.
The intervention of different agencies in the incidents will occur according to existing protocols performance in which the body or service must act to ensure the life and physical integrity of persons or property is determined.
To this end the Ministry provides the necessary technological support to sustain the centers and platforms, equipment, hardware and software for connection to the system of 112-Murcia, as well as initial and ongoing training of municipal staff.
Expand to other municipalities with more than 20,000 inhabitants
Currently, there are 13 municipalities that have signed these agreements since 2003, which represents 72 percent of the regional population and 70 percent of the incidents attended last year as among the signatories are Murcia, Cartagena Lorca and Molina de Segura, which are the four most populous region, plus all the coast.
The Minister of Presidency expressed its willingness to extend such agreements to other municipalities with a certain population entity, as Sewell, Cieza, Torre Pacheco, Totana, Caravaca de la Cruz or Alhama de Murcia, all with more than 20,000 inhabitants.
So said Maria Dolores Pagan, "would get increase the number of remote sites connected to municipal-Murcia 112 system, which will result undoubtedly in a better and more efficient service to citizens."
