Unit funding for Alzheimer setting up by the city, expansion of places in the Day Center for Persons with Intellectual Disability (25 to 30) and more long-term needs such as creating a new center.
They have been some of the requests made by the Mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jimenez, the Minister of Family and Equal Opportunities, Thomas Violante, who on Monday visited Mazarrón to know the realities on social policy presented by the municipality.
Accompanied by the Mayor and the Director General of People with Disabilities, Ana Guijarro, Thomas Violante has visited the facilities of the Day Centre and the Early Childhood Center of Mazarrón.
Places where a specialized service to 25 and 192 people, respectively is provided.
The minister has known, first hand, the work performed by the team of specialists working in both centers and interacted with users who like detail for the visit you have made delivery of a gift made by themselves.
After visiting these centers adviser and mayor have held a working meeting with representatives of various NGOs in Mazarrón: Adima, Aspadem, Red Cross, Caritas, New Course, Making and Difference, Ecumenical Church and Fitomur.
At that meeting they discussed modifying Social Services Act that will give greater priority to non-profit organizations in developing management methods such as social concert or cooperation agreements.
During his visit to Mazarrón, Thomas Violante also announced that it is working from his Ministry in a decree that recognized early attention as a public, free and universal service.
"It is a right that we want to have all children in need".
The Mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jiménez, expressed his commitment to serve those families who are in worst situation.
"It is an obligation for the government to make suffer most have a much better life," said Alicia Jimenez.
