Once again, the Department of Environment of the City of Mazarrón and Hiking Club Friends of Nature celebrate World Bird Day.
They will do this weekend with a program of events that aims to raise awareness on respect for the natural environment and its wildlife.
Activity that has been presented at the Tuesday morning by the Mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jimenez, Councillor for Environment, Maria Isabel Lopez and Rafael Peral as representative of the Hiking Club of Mazarrón.
On Saturday October 3rd from 10 am until 13 pm, a stand installed in the weekly market of Mazarrón display a sample of the most typical habitat of peninsular southeast birds.
On site will be encouraged to younger to participate in this exhibition through different activities.
The program of events continues on Sunday October 4th at 10 am in the wetlands of the avenue of mulberry trees, a place of great natural value in the presence of a large number of species, some endangered species such as white-headed duck that choose this natural place to breed.
The mayor of Mazarrón and the Councillor for the Environment have encouraged families to take advantage of the weekend to perform a different activity that also serves to appreciate the rich natural heritage with which our municipality and also be aware of the importance of respect and conservation.
