A total of 18 university students from Mazarrón have begun to do their internship in various municipal offices thanks to a project launched from the Department of Employment and Local Development.
Young people develop their work in sections of Social Services, Finance, Training and Employment, Local Development, Urban Development, Tourism, Culture, Youth, File and Registry.
Internships are paid 600 euros a month and aim to encourage training and curricular experience of university students in the municipality.
For this, the City Council allocated in 2015 a consignment of 60,000 euros.
The mayor of Mazarrón, Alicia Jiménez, praised the importance of this initiative, included in a joint program of measures aimed at reducing unemployment in the municipality.
In addition, as noted by the mayor, it is possible to bring the local administration to the citizen.
The young recruits have the opportunity to meet your local city from within, working in their functioning and contributing new ideas work.
The Councillor for Employment and Training, Maria Angeles Blaya, has indicated that to implement this initiative have signed three agreements of educational cooperation with the University of Murcia, San Antonio Catholic University and the Polytechnic University of Cartagena.
