This weekend the town has hosted for the first time the 'Mazarrón Windsurfing Festival 2008' on the beach Alamillo with the participation of more than forty federal windsurfers and beginners in the Region.
Once all the evidence, the general classification has been as follows: first Oscar Alcaraz, Juan Pedro Garcia and Juan José Bafallíu, in second and third, respectively, whom the Councillor for Sports, Francisco Antonio Raja, has given them a trophy for winning the best brands.
Weather conditions have made possible the arrival of 'jaloque', or whatever it is, the thermal wind suitable for the holding of this event.
The slalom, long distance, freestyle and waves, which have been developed on the beach Alamillo, have had great success in involving both windsurfers and spectators.
This event has emerged as an initiative of a group of windsurfers in the Region of Murcia, with the support and collaboration of the Sailing Federation of the Region of Murcia, has succeeded in fostering the development of these tests at strategic points of the coast of Murcia.
The sporting event has been organized by the Club de Regatas de Mazarrón in collaboration with the Department of Sports City of Mazarrón, has exceeded expectations and anticipates the development of sports activities of this kind in the waters of the Bay of Mazarrón.
