Stem cells and ethical issues that can generate their use constitute some of the issues that scientists from various universities and research centers in Spain analyzed from 16 to 18 July during the International University of the Sea held in Mazarrón.
The morning session will be devoted to the potential of stem cells, the social impact of cell therapy and ethical issues, with the intervention, among other speakers, Salvador Martinez, a professor at the University "Miguel Hernández", and Anna Veiga, director of the Institute of Regenerative Medicine in Barcelona.
The conference will deal with day 17 of cell therapy in heart disease, liver disease and trauma, while the day 18 will analyze, among other topics, cell therapy in Parkinson's disease and cerebral ischemia.
This course at the International University of the Sea, directed by Professors José María Moraleda and Salvador Martinez, developed at Playa Grande in Puerto de Mazarrón and was inaugurated yesterday by the Minister of Health, María Ángeles Palacios, and the Vice Chancellor for Extension Universitaria, Francisco Guillermo Diaz.
