This morning the mayor of Mazarrón, Francisco Blaya, and the Councillor for Social Policy, Yolanda Vivancos, have received at 9 Belarusian children who will spend this summer in the town, whose stay is a significant improvement of their health as good climate is very beneficial for them.
The municipality of Mazarrón is hosting this summer to 8 girls and 1 boy from Belarus through the work undertaken by the NGO 'Solidarity Mazarrón' in collaboration with the Department of Social Policy of the City and the 'Bay of Mazarrón Lions Club. "
During the ceremony, which was held in the Town Hall of Mazarrón, Francisco Blaya has made a special mention to Josefa García, recently deceased, who did much for the solidarity and helping others.
It has also expressed his gratitude to the town of Mazarrón, in particular, to the nine families who have welcomed these children with the solidarity that implies.
Later, Francisco Blaya and Yolanda Vivancos have given small gifts and their instructors about to be carried fond memories of the seaside town.
More anecdotal note has been the involvement of one of the instructors, who thanked the understanding, affection and support that people provide to the children.
In token of his gratitude has given the Mayor with several gifts.
The event ended with the surrender of a donation of 2,400 euros 'Mazarrón Bay Lions Club' to the NGO 'Solidarity Mazarrón' to help make possible the stay of the Belarusian children.
Upon receipt of Belarusian children join the many activities organized by the Consistory, such as the coexistence in the Granja El Collado, a tourist train ride and the day of the show for free that will take place during these two months.
With this initiative the City of Mazarrón through the Department of Social Policy has spent 6,000 euros on the reception of Belarusian children with consolidating its common action, as it captures the attention of different groups living in 83 different nationalities live in the municipality.
