the mayor of Mazarrón, Francisco Blaya, along with City Councillor for Culture, Alicia Jiménez, will chair the award of the twenty-fourth edition of "Story Contest Mazarron Villa del Olmo Antonio Segado 'Social Club in the Marina.
It should be noted the failure of this year, the first prize for "The Ants" by Juan Carlos Fernandez, who lives in Madrid, who will receive € 3,600 and a plaque, and the second prize for "The blonde girls disease" of Burgundian Ignacio Martinez, who lives in Cartagena, who will be rewarded with 2,400 euros and a plaque.
The jury, which determined the winners of this year was composed of: Espido Freire writer, poet and literary critic Soren Peñalver Zapata, the physician and Director of Theater Rafael García Castillo, columnist Lola Grace Martinez, the journalist Peter Soler Gómez and the Director of the Universidad Popular de Mazarrón, José María López Ballesta, who also will attend the awards ceremony.
This year the competition has been a very high participation, reaching the 1,163 original tale reception throughout Latin America, United States, most European Union countries, Africa and Asia.
Mazarrón City Council through the Department of Culture in collaboration with the People's University has organized this event year after year is becoming one of the most relevant international literary scene.
