The mayor of Mazarrón, Francisco Blaya, along with Minister of Agriculture and Water, Antonio Cerdá, the mayors of the coastal municipalities of the Murcia Region and the Federation of Fishermen have signed an agreement for the removal of solid waste recovered from the seabed .
The primary objective is to remove solid waste from the sea, such as plastics, cans, cans or bottles, which appeared in fishing nets of the fleet, its transportation to the port and its deposit in waste containers authorized for this purpose.
The agreement allows for extending the agreement of 1,997 and ensures continuity of work since then, being made by fishermen in the region.
Moreover, according to the Law of Marine Fisheries and Aquaculture in the Region of Murcia, the administrative action in respect of fisheries for achieving a balanced and responsible exploitation of fisheries resources and promoting quality management system and control of this sector .
