Nearly one hundred people participated in the intensive day called 'Clean Up the World', developed Saturday in Mazarrón, in particular, on the beach of Cairn.
The Councillor for the Environment, Juana Maria Morales, and the Councillor for Civil Protection, Jacqueline Galvez, have actively participated in the development of this activity so much so that have offered their help and assistance to young people.
This initiative has met its main goals are to raise awareness as citizens to ensure that the environment is increasingly clean and encourage respect for the environment.
'Clean Up the World', undertaken by volunteers from the Directorate General Environment of the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Planning, is an international environmental campaign in which he collaborates Manos Unidas and in its 15 year history has captured the attention of more than 40 million people around the world.
This program supports local efforts as key to improvements in the environment and promotes long term joint action by companies, associations, communities, schools, governments and individuals ( www.cleanuptheworld.org ).
The Town Council of Mazarron, through the Department of Environment, has encouraged the development of this campaign which highlights the interest in preserving the rich natural heritage of the coastal town.
