The municipality of Mazarrón is present in the 'European Heritage Days 2008', which this year will address topic of 'industrial landscape', so that guided tours will be going for the industrial areas of Mazarrón.
The routes that will take place on 18 and 19 October, are public, free and open to citizen participation.
The objectives are to establish a connection between citizens and their cultural heritage, learn about the activities related to the industrial landscape of the region, and to discover and update knowledge on resource extraction and processing.
This conference is aimed at people interested in the cultural heritage of the Region of Murcia.
On this route we will visit the Roman Court of Mazarrón (open pit quarry where they mined lead and silver in the second century BC), the Oak Laundry (nineteenth and twentieth century), the remains of Alum Factory ( with activity from the sixteenth to the eighteenth century), the mine's Mazarrón (early twentieth century) and the ore dock to the beach of the dead.
