VOTE OF THE TOWN OF THE PURĂŤSIMA MAZARRĂ“N
Mazarrón, November 17, 2008
Blessed Lady in the mystery of your spotless and Immaculate Conception and Our Mother.
As each November 17 and accordingly in my capacity as Mayor of the Most Illustrious President Mazarrón City Council, I again stand here today to fulfill the mission of renewing pride in the confidence vote subsidiary that proclaims you as Mother and Patroness of all we love Mazarrón.
One more year, all Mazarron we called to render you homage: some, by our presence here and now, at this Shrine Immaculate, and others with his presence in spirit, for the distance is never prevented realize this desire fed as depths of the soul.
Far or near each of our thoughts today is prayer that rises up to Heaven as loving and devoted children.
Today, November 17, 2008, we again prostrate at the foot of your virginal effigy the flag of our town of Mazarrón, which is for all Mazarron sign of love, hope and unity in building a better city.
Our flag, Immaculate Conception, is chaired by the cross of our Lord and Son of God and yours, flanked on both sides by the arms of Philip II to whom our village owes its independence.
Like that first day of 1568, we have come to the temple that bears your name to celebrate the Eucharist and, in due time, ask God for the blessing of this flags woven and embroidered with thousands of threads that they lose their identity for the common good.
It was already the penultimate day of 1567 when it was decided to make a flag under orders of King Felipe II, establishing a militia of war to serve in the galleys, and defend the coasts of the Kingdom of hacker attacks.
And so early next year, what did I ask you, Madam, to read the documents with us witnesses of our past and the foundation of our morning:
"...
in the said town of Alum of Almaçarrón, the first day of the month of January, year of birth of our Saviour Christ, one thousand Jhesú and five hundred and sixty and eight years before me, the notary, and witnesses yuso writings, ajuntarse to council and council as they have them in use and the habit of being together to understand things useful and necessary to the said town, and doing what your Majesty orders, to wit, what the council said it was and tried and reported is as follows: this town forever serve God ea his majesty, and to urge that exalts the Holy Catholic Faith, an Vandera made a colored taffeta, and is coupled to an r, as an ydo to accompany the aforementioned Vandera Our Lady of the concession where I said Mass has blessed.
E sent me said notary, at all times to be recorded as it complies with its orders and orders magestat, by his commandment the Lord Marques of Velez, that fee as has been the joy Vandera and is to that mass and is a blessed, which I, the scribe, I according to law, I can e quanto devo, because I've seen eye to eye. "
Thus, 440 years after your miraculous intervention on behalf of our ancestors, all of us who feel Mazarron and love this town, from the deepest roots of our history, we walk with hope and vitality for the present moment, we projected a future of hope and venturoo.
Today more than ever, we commit ourselves to Thee, to remind our children and proclamándoos Mother of all children of all Mazarron.
"To you they are born, to be received the same whom you gave to be, Mother of ye Father and the Father hath given being, I called Mother of the world."
For all we ask, Madam, that under the protection of your mantle, protejáis inundéis with your kindness and our children hope and strength.
Why veléis sleep and health of our children, who wake up to the lament and those who stayed in the middle of the road.
For that we remain comforted by their presence, whether on our side, as if they are to yours.
Pray Immaculate Mother, so that today too, all Mazarron we go through difficult times in our lives we find, after a time of uncertainty, anointed by the oil of your lamp, the bright future and prosperity both now need.
Parish Priest-Pastor of Mazarrón: I would hand over the baton from the town, our Mother, the patron of Mazarrón, the Immaculate Conception.
To that, like 440 years ago, do us all a miracle to open hearts to offer to others the best of us.
And especially, Mother, I pray that we the politicians, who have to govern the destiny of our people, guide us and enlighten us in making decisions so that our actions are fair and result in the common welfare of all citizens.
And in gratitude, Immaculate Mother, I give you the Staff of Commander of the Villa, so that during these festivities and throughout the year 2009 you may be You, Immaculate Conception, the mayor of Mazarrón.
