This morning the mayor of Mazarrón, Francisco Blaya, and the Director of the Global Foundation for Nature in Murcia, Juan Castanedo, have signed a collaboration agreement to promote ecotourism in the village.
At the event, which was held at 12:30 am
in the Auditorium of the City of Mazarrón, also attended by the councilors of Tourism and Environment, Alicia Jimenez and Juana Maria Morales, respectively.
Global Nature Foundation has as its main goal the promotion of sustainable development and environmental quality, through the commissioning and development of models of integrating environmental factors into development planning and management, as well as in socioeconomic activities.
Also, the City of Mazarrón, motivated by the rich landscape, the high biodiversity of the municipality and the great cultural heritage it has, of conservation and social development considered essential, is keen to develop initiatives that contribute to sustainable development of the municipality are compatible with conservation values and resources.
The purpose of the collaboration is to establish a basis for the joint implementation of projects, activities and experiences on ecotourism and sustainable development to promote better management of this business.
Francisco Blaya this action not only created to protect and conserve the environment but also for enjoyment by the public.
In addition, this initiative will be linked to the installation of information panels, the adequacy of roads and enhancement of natural heritage.
For his part, Juan Luis Castaneda has ensured that both Global Nature as the municipality of Mazarrón work around several courses of action to promote public use of natural areas.
Thanks to this agreement the City Council of Mazarron, through the Department of Tourism and Global Nature nonprofit cooperate in the promotion of ecotourism and the promotion of sustainable development in the municipality.
