The mayor of Mazarrón, Francisco Blaya, along with Planning and Infrastructure Councillor Jose Antonio Roman, today put the projects to be implemented in the municipality with funding from the Local Investment Fund.
The ceremony also attended by the aldermen of Trade and Sport, Juana Maria Morales and Francisco Antonio Raja, respectively.
The flagship project is the construction of a modern and spacious Municipal Market on Constitution Avenue in the former warehouse of the rooster.
In this regard Blaya noted that the intention is that the new market is a shopping arcade equipped with shops, offices and even a restaurant to ensure the welfare and comfort of all citizens.
The projects will also conduct the said Municipal Market are works of adaptation and improvement of accessibility in the avenues Tierno Galván and Dr. Mecca in Puerto de Mazarrón, urbanization Coopers Street in Puerto de Mazarrón, the adequacy of College sports courts in Ginés García Martínez, with the construction of three paddle tennis courts, a new multi-use trail, a new floor for the current track and a pergola for children, improving the facilities at the Port Bay Sports Centre de Mazarrón, with the construction of two more tennis courts and a paddle and the construction of new costumes, new fencing and new access roads, rehabilitation of the offices of the Department of Planning of the City of Mazarrón, the paving of Narcissus Avenue Yepes and Calle La Torre in Puerto de Mazarrón, urbanization of the Blackbird in Mazarron Street and the paving of the streets Salvador Dalí, Antonio Machado, Santo Tomas, the Camino de Las Encinas, Street Cars and the extension of the street Via in Mazarrón.
The total project amount is EUR 5,772,649.
