This weekend the town of Mazarrón has hosted the 'First Congress of Women for Equality' on the occasion of the celebration of International Women's Day.
This event, which brought together more than a hundred women, has received the Mayor of Mazarrón, Francisco Blaya, and the Councillor for Social Policy, Yolanda Vivancos.
In this event, held all day Saturday at the Salon Costa, the main protagonists have been women Mazarron, who have thoroughly enjoyed a full program packed with activities such as lectures, round table, food and theater.
The highlight of the day was the award to Mazarron Women this year was awarded to Maria Martinez, who has won this award for his work as founder of the Association of Housewives, Consumers and Users and El Faro activity as President of the same for 14 years, working and active participation in social and cultural work.
This appointment was unanimously approved between the Association of Housewives, Consumers and Users Almazarrón, the Association of Housewives, Consumers and Users El Faro de Puerto de Mazarrón, Parish Caritas, Mazarrón Bahía Mazarrón Lions Club and NGOs for Development.
Mazarron women have continued to this celebration by attending the official ceremony in commemoration of International Women's Day, held the Auditorium and Congress Center Victor Villegas, for which the City has enabled free shuttle buses from the bus station in Puerto Mazarrón and from the halt of Mazarrón.
The Personal Growth Workshop: meditation and relaxation, Memory and the photography exhibition 'Under the Same Sun' are other activities that will extend the program until 20 March.
