The Minister of Public Works and Planning, José Ballesta, accompanied by the mayor of Mazarrón, Francisco Blaya, today made the first stone of the works of RM-D4 road that runs through the town Mazarron.
The actions planned to widen the platform, which will have nine meters, and reduce the radius of the curves with the aim of improving road safety for users.
RM-D4 road linking the round of Mazarrón with RM-D8 highway at the height of the hamlet Lorca Morata.
This is an important route that connects numerous agricultural population centers and along which more than 600,000 vehicles.
José Ballesta explained that "the road now has sections that need to adapt to the changing needs of traffic, which has grown considerably in recent years."
The works, which will be developed in two phases, will improve the quality of life of persons residing or working in the districts of Lewis Mazarron and La Atalaya, as well as passing through this road for access to the flock and Gańuelas or the hamlet Lorca Morata.
The first phase, a company hired to Murcia for an amount of 1,029,495 euros, will improve a stretch of six kilometers, the second account with an amount of 1,380,269 euros for its implementation.
In both cases, as additional measures of road safety, road shoulders will be expanded and improved the additions to the road and drains, signs and markings, for a safer route to respond to current traffic needs the area.
