The Minister of Public Works and Planning, José Ballesta, today signed a collaboration agreement with the mayor of Mazarrón, Francisco Blaya, for the construction of 13 houses of public promotion through the Institute for Housing and Land in the Region of Murcia (IVS) in the Barrio de San José del Puerto de Mazarron, whose total cost amounts to 1,505,345 euros.
In the words of counsel, "This action responds to one of the main objectives of the regional government to provide decent housing and better conditions for all Murcia, while it carries out the regeneration of areas such as the Barrio de San Joseph in the Mazarrón town. "
Moreover, according to José Ballesta, "This project is an example of the significant investment that the regional government is making in public works and housing rehabilitation, which is a major focus for employment for municipalities."
The plot on which they will build the new housing is located in Los Caleñares South, Puerto de Mazarrón, and occupies an area of 1,356 square meters.
The project will consist of two parallel groups of six and seven duplex houses, townhouses, with a common basement parking and storage.
The buildings occupy an entire city block and will consist of four, three and two bedrooms.
"Since the Ministry is working to ensure access to quality social housing sectors of the population who have limited access to market conditions, thanks to the work of the Housing and Land Institute.

Second phase of the promotion
It is also planned execution of a second phase of this social housing project in another lot of similar characteristics assigned by the City to complete the relocation of all families affected by this project to regenerate the district of San José.
In both cases, the IVS will be responsible for the management and procurement of works, and during their execution, the families that occupy the existing housing will be relocated temporarily.
