The mayor of Mazarrón, Francisco Blaya, and Social Policy Adviser, Women and Migration, Joaquín Bascuñana, inaugurated this morning a computer lab for the Center for Senior Day Puerto de Mazarrón.
The ceremony was attended by numerous authorities as the Senior Director General, Paloma Recio, the Councillor for Social Policy, Yolanda Vivancos, the Senior Center Director of Puerto de Mazarrón, Consuelo Hernández Chiclana, and members of the Department of Social Policy Government Team and the City of Mazarrón.
These new units, which involves an investment of 213,774 euros, were made on an extension of existing building and consists of 115 square footage to be used primarily as a computer room and therapy room.
Currently, the Day Centre Puerto de Mazarron has a total of 5,489 members aged between 60 and 80 years and was inaugurated in 1992, it was serving both as a center of service day in day stays which serves an average of 20 users per day to provide individual attention.
The Day Centre Puerto de Mazarrón divides its activities into different areas such as socio-health, cultural, educational, occupational, sports, cultural coexistence and promotion so that users can have a wide range of programs to fill their leisure time and receive health care when they need it.
