This morning, the Councillor of the Presidency, Alicia Jimenez, the Director General of Highways, Jose Guijarro, and the Councillor for Infrastructure and Planning, José Antonio Román, visited the works of the road linking the town of Lorca Mazarron, which markedly improve the access of the inhabitants of the region west of the beaches in their environment.
The next year the route will also allow road access to the beaches of Mazarrón for citizens who move to them from the western part of the Region, mainly from Lorca, which may also make use of it when in the summer there a large volume of vehicles.
This will improve the layout and the platform will be extended to nine feet, softening the radius of the most dangerous curves, so as to minimize the risk of accidents, thanks to the additional road safety projects, such as extension of the shoulders, drainage, signals and markings, thus achieving a more secure path to respond to current traffic needs in the area.
This action will also benefit the agricultural use of the inhabitants of the parishes of Lewis Mazarron and La Atalaya, as well as passing through this road to access and Gañuelas La Manga, Lorca hamlet or broker between Lorca and Mazarron improving the competitiveness of horticultural enterprises.
The Consistory of Mazarrón has achieved this significant investment of 2.4 million euros to the municipality and that in turn runs the Autonomous Community of Murcia, through the Ministry of Public Works and Planning.
