The Autonomous Community of Murcia wants to promote the protection of the coast with the installation of a ecopunto in the fishing port of Puerto de Mazarrón.
This ecopunto, valued at 23,022 euros, will protect the coastline through responsible management of waste in areas of port activity and serve as a storage place to adequately treat the waste or waste generated by ships.
These features will neutralize its polluting side and can be recycled for reuse.
It is semi-covered spaces and containing within it the specific tanks for each type of waste generated by ships of the Port users, whether for pleasure or fishing boats.
These spaces serve a number of requirements regarding the dangers of home products such as oils, batteries, paints, solvents, filters, or ferrous materials, and their management, to ensure maximum user safety and the environment.
According to the Councillor of Tourism, Alicia Jiménez, "this measure will safeguard the quality of the municipality's beaches, especially during the summer when tourist demand grows."
Jimenez, who praised the initiative of the Directorate General of Ports, notes that the Consistory working hard to address any incidents on beaches in favor of citizens, allowing the craft work.
