This morning the mayor of Mazarrón, Francisco Blaya, next to the Director General of Natural Heritage and Biodiversity, Pablo Fernandez and the Head of Institutional Relations of 'La Caixa' in Murcia, José Antonio Meseguer, have been released in situ projects environmental restoration Windlass Hill and wetland biological adaptation of the Rambla de las Moreras.
The first contains the proceedings of the mountain vegetation restoration included within the urban space and its transformation into green space.
The work includes, in general, the removal of vegetation that presents a worse state due to problems related to pollution and urban use, improving sanitation and other plant specimens, and the creation of several representative ecosystems of the Region Murcia with a clear didactic function.
The second project is the fitness, the Rambla Wetland of Mulberry.
Specifically, it is improving the wetland habitats of this through, among other things, the expansion of the lagoon on land donated by the municipality of Mazarrón, thus increasing the available habitat for bird species.
It also will protect the perimeter with a wooden fence to prevent accidental loss of people.
The wetland of the Rambla of Mulberry has some of the best representations Mediterranean avifauna.
Distinguished by their degree of threat the white-headed duck (Oxyura leucocephala) and the marbled teal (Marmonereta angustirostris).
This nature has been proposed to form part of the Ramsar List of Wetlands of International Importance.
In this respect Paul has spoken Fernandez, who has said that the wetlands of the Rambla de las Moreras "has one of the best representations Mediterranean."
Francisco Blaya is a significant improvement of the natural heritage of the municipality which will allow your knowledge and enjoyment of all the generations which in turn will promote their conservation and visit.
Two projects, included in the collaboration agreement signed between the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Social Work 'La Caixa', amount to a budget of 60,000 euros each.
The previous performance, executed by the City of Mazarrón, to the enhancement of the Torre del Pinwheel an investment of 280,000 euros in the restoration of the Tower and the immediate environment which has facilitated the involvement of DG Natural Heritage and Biodiversity.
