The Minister of Agriculture and Water, Antonio Cerdá, and the mayor of Mazarrón, Francisco Blaya, today inaugurated the work on improving the drainage of storm water in Puerto de Mazarrón Bay.
The works include "a cluster of pipes" to improve rainwater drainage "preventing flood damage and infiltration," said Water responsible for regional government.
The owner of Agriculture and Water said this action "helps to improve the conditions of the neighbors who so far had a pipeline system deficit.
Bay was built in an area that naturally floods and these facilities seek redress that situation, "said Cerda.
The works have included improving the drainage of groundwater and the collection of rainwater through a collector of 132 meters and two pipes of 900 mm in width.
This action has been completed with the refurbishment of the collection channel, a 470 meters long, and two force mains and storm drain 100 and 400 meters respectively, to "further improve the conditions of the sewage," said Minister of Agriculture.
Cerda said that the development of this project has also put up the urban environment of the streets that run the new pipeline ", with a new distribution width of the driveway and sidewalks, and installation of gutters.
The works have received an investment of 1.3 billion euros and were financed by funds of the region.
