This morning the mayor of Mazarrón, Francisco Blaya, and the Minister of Public Works and Planning, José Ballesta, inaugurated the work on improving road safety conducted in the municipality's urban core, where two sections have been removed concentration of accidents.
The work, which involved an investment of 1,029,495 euros by the regional government has been run on the road RM-D4, which communicates with Lorca Mazarrón through the RM-D8, and has been the elimination of dangerous curves, which have been replaced by a new design that ensures adequate security conditions and visibility.
The works carried out have also meant the extension of the platform to ten meters wide and can double the maximum speed up to 80 miles per hour.
In the two tranches subject to performance and to provide good drainage, it has also undertaken the installation of frameworks and infrastructure to an adequate cross drainage, while the longitudinal drainage is reinforced with adequate ditches lined concrete.
Improvements to the crossing of entry to the Port of Mazarrón
After the inauguration, the Mayor and the Chief Executive visited the refurbishment of the voyage of Mazarrón, RM-332, which includes the construction of a new roundabout and the widening of the road that leads to the Puerto de Mazarrón, valued at a amount of 566,396 euros.
In particular, the section under the action contains the connection of the arbor of the 'Phoenician ships' with the new, which will serve Narciso Yepes avenues and Imperial Eagle.
The work involves the duplication of part of the layout of the RM-332, which will be two to four lanes 3.5 m wide each.
The packaging also includes the corresponding inner and outer shoulders, sidewalks two feet and a central median of three meters, in addition to the renewal of signaling and lighting.
